About the Program

The Department of Labor registered Apprenticeship Program is offered by Local Union 486, which is affiliated with the United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry of the United States and Canada and the Mechanical Contractors Association of Maryland, Inc.

The program provides:

  • On-the-job training

  • $45k+ first-year compensation package
  • 10 trade certifications

  • Licenses for Maryland plumber/gasfitter and HVACR journeyperson

  • 30 free college credits
